It is with great sadness we announce the passing of James Dandridge ………
He was a joy to know and appeared in “Going Postal” as the very
senior junior postman Groat, he certainly made the part his own ..
the facial expressions were wonderful , “A Bunch of Amateurs” as
the insufferable Nigel .. a part he relished and so different to his own generous personality.
He played Paul the murder suspect in “The Perfect Murder”
challenging him to play nasty, and finally the inimitable Toad in
“Wind in the Willows” A part he was thrilled to play alongside his children Grace and Joe who played stoats.
He was such a larger than life character, funny, a brilliant actor and more than that our friend.
He was to have directed “Canterbury Tales” and also play the Miller , but the wicked brain tumour that he had battled for more than 12 years returned ,and though he tried so hard to carry on he could not. After surgery and chemo we thought he was winning the battle but on Sunday he finally succumbed.
We are all devastated. We will miss your smiling face James. R.I.P and keep entertaining wherever you may be xx

We were very lucky to be able to perform “Canterbury Tales” ...
at The Dixon Studio Palace Theatre ..March 11-14th 2020 ..
ours was the last show to be performed before the theatre was closed due to the Cv19.
Tickets were down on our usual sales and the audience numbers dropped as each day passed, but WOW the audiences that did attend were brilliant and joined in with gusto with the audience participation, many thanked us for bringing laughter at a time when it was most needed !!
Our July show was to be “Searching For Dr Branovic” by David Tristram but with closed theatres and rehearsing challenging to say
the least ! (although virtual rehearsals have been taking place) we have now transferred the show to our November slot and tickets are on sale. So keep an eye on our website for updates !!!
We are always on the look out for new members and really need young ladies to join our group..as we are quite unusual as we
have more Gents than Ladies in EEP !!!
....and don’t forget our shows usually sell out so book now.
